Education & Guiding at the Museum

Lecturers and instructors, come and take part in conducting workshops and courses at the museum.

The museum offers guided tours and educational activities to pre-schoolers, school-aged pupils, students, soldiers, various organizations and the general public.

 

The museum has an array of educational programs customized according to various topics (art, culture, Jewish and Israeli heritage) as well as to specific age groups, populations (religious schools, state-schools) and special events.
 

The guided tours that are offered are given by the museum’s experienced pedagogical staff. Guided tours together with creative workshops are available upon request.
 

Guided tours are given For groups and individuals in Hebrew. Guided tours in other languages: English, Arabic, Russian and French are given by prior arrangement with the museum.

Torah, Nabiia Ketabim - Hebrew literature on the order of the parshats of the week

Moderator: Rui Ravitzki

Poet and stage and theater writer. Hebrew literature has always corresponded with the Bible, cleaned it from it, filled it with shortcomings, criticized it, faced it, created its heroes inspired by it and places its heroes within the reality of its time. Hebrew literature cannot be read without the Bible and to a large extent the Bible as well. It is impossible to read without the sequels that have been written throughout the generations. Throughout the year, we will also enter into a conversation between these two epics, we will dance with the Moroccan and modern Hebrew language, we will meet the characters in their different interpretations, we will resolve the dilemmas and the similar and renewed encounters, and we too will experience a little From the interpretive task undertaken by Hebrew poets, a task as long as the lives of the people and it is not yet finished

Genetics in the modern era and its impact on society

Lecturer: Dr. Reot Matar, Yitzhak Rabin Genetic Institute

Has a master's degree in genetics and a doctorate in cellular and developmental biology from Tel Aviv University, director of a genetics laboratory at Beilinson Hospital and a research partner with Tel Aviv University and international companies. Since the discovery of the genetic code and the understanding of heredity about 60 years ago until the cracking of the human genome in recent years, molecular genetics has developed at a rapid pace dizzying and transformed from basic science to a central tool in medicine. Today, modern genetics is used as a means of diagnosing, monitoring and curing many diseases, both hereditary and acquired, what is that wonderful genetic code? "Personalized medicine" that is based on our personal genome? And what is the effect of the genetic revolution in the world of medicine on man and society? The course does not require prior knowledge of the subject and is suitable for the general public

Culture in cinema - an Israeli cinematic journey

Lecturer: Dr. Yuval Rivlin

Researcher and lecturer on cinema and history. In this series of meetings, we will seek to trace the various cinematic answers that were given to the questions: Who will save my house? And after two thousand years the end of wandering? Where is the Land of Israel? We will follow the diverse plots of the various questioners, we will observe and discuss the families that populate Israeli cinema from Casablanca to Isham Hatani

Building a State - History of the Land of Israel

Lecturer: Uriel Feinerman

Director of kashrut courses, for guiding trips in Israel on the subject of the Holocaust and revival. There is no doubt that the first decade in the country's history is particularly significant, because much of the state of the country was shaped during this period. During the series, we will return to some of the events and interpretations, while presenting the dramas that took place behind the scenes

Lecturer: Yanon Or, the Time of the Stock Exchange study center

Creation as a way of life - carpentry workshop

Moderator: Golan Misri

Director of kashrut courses, for travel training in Israel on the subject of the Holocaust and the Resurrection. Establishes and initiates a wood creation center - Wood Stock, which he founded out of a great love for wood. Carpentry workshop for creating kits for self-construction and woodwork, experience with tools and unique techniques for working with wood

Plastic Art

Moderator: Golan Misri

Has a bachelor's degree in literature and AI studies from Bar Ilan University and a master's degree in Jewish art and Land of Israel studies

Six sessions, once a week, each session an hour and a half.

The language and culture of Moroccan Jews

Lecturer: Dr. Moshe Cohen

A former broadcaster on "Voice of Israel" news and programs for Moroccan Jews and a lecturer at Ben Gurion University. In recent years he has been teaching courses in the language and culture of Moroccan Jews all over the country. The participants will encounter a variety of texts in Moroccan - Jewish, from the collections of the National Library and other collections: "Sharach", newspapers in Jewish Arabic, proverbs, poems and songs of proclamations, historical press, praises of the righteous, folk tales, translated European works, Hitholic works and more. All this, on the side of easy conversations that combine grammar and syntax in the language of Moroccan Jews in particular and Muslims in Morocco in general. Through reading and studying these texts, we will learn about the characteristics of the language, culture, history and cuisine of Moroccan Jews. The Arabic-Jewish language is written in Hebrew letters, so there is no need to know the Hebrew language. However, a minimal familiarity with the Moroccan-Jewish language is necessary for participation

First meeting - Psagot Winery - The ancient wine industry - Winery as a growing business in the international wine market. Red and white wine tasting

Facilitators: Naama Berg, owner of the winery, Noa Shlomai, director of the visitor center and responsible for the wine content

The price is NIS 110 per person subject to the registration of a minimum of 20 participants

Second meeting - wine production - red wines, blends, use of barrels and pairing of different wines

Facilitators: Itai Katzenstein assistant winemaker, Noa Shlomai manager of the visitor center

Third meeting - Senses workshop - a unique and fascinating meeting where we will understand the senses and what affects each of them. We will sharpen the wine tasting skills and learn what the effects are during the tasting. The workshop includes four types of wine tasting
